Don’t think about the snow or the brown crap it’ll soon turn into. Think about this dude instead.

Adam, one of the guys that answers the love advice questions showed me this and told me it was an analogy for my crappy life. The lesson according to him is that when life blindsides, no matter how fucked up you are,  you need to get back to the bench.

You’ve got to laugh to keep from crying right?

Metal at Metal shop

16 November 2009 | By Zach in alleycats, polo, shop | 2 Comments

Here’s a peek at what I’ve been doing when I’m not at the shop: Working at the other shop! I decided that razor sharp lugs cut my fingers just as well as they cut the minds of people that don’t think bicycles are brutal, heavy-metal machines.

Although you guys don’t deserve it, here’s some pictures of my successful headtube and lower lug replacement on my veteran bike, Battlesteed. This old Serotta used to be my weekend bike until I had to use it for full time messengering (that was before trackstar), then I did a 1000 mile bike tour on it and when I got back to New York I raced it at Kissena for a couple seasons, and he’s been through dozens of alley cats. Now I just use it for bike polo. Unbrazing tubes and lugs is three times harder than brazing. I felt kind of bad doing such invasive surgery on the old guy so I fashioned his first headbadge out of the headtube I cut out. I didn’t even realize I was that sentimental.
